Bus to Battambang

A pretty beat-up old bus, chock full. Airconditioner making a valiant attempt at cooling, but defeated as people started opening windows. Followed the Tonle Sap out of Phnom Penh, past endless sand and gravel suppliers, then into more open rural areas; rice and small villages. Hot. Cumulus build-up was released in one huge downpour. There was only one attempt at a head-on with another bus: much blowing of horns before swerving to avoid catastrophe. There was intense discussion amongst the locals after our survival, with lots of wild gesturing and loud debate. Really woke everyone up...
